There's a lot more interaction between factions in general in Elex 2 compared to Elex 1. Yes, there are some nice improvements, but the world is mostly empty from factions' activity and number 3 and 4 were already present in the first game. In Elex 2 there are basically only traveling merchants and other than that factions are mostly concentrated in one place. In Elex 1 there are not only the traveling traders, you can also meet members of other factions on the road that were send on some mission, you can see fights between factions, outposts of other factions, slaughtered faction members and you have to explore the area looking for notes to know what happened to them, and so on. I finished Elex 2 like a week ago and installed Elex 1 to do some modding and let me tell you, it's not even close. But everything else is just plain downgrade to be honest.Įlex 2 world is more alive than in the first game? o.O I think I have to disagree with this one. The only really good major improvements are better combat (and I mean mechanics, the combat AI is bad and easily exploitable), magic, jet-pack. It really looks like example 1 was done by a completely different person than example 2. Completely different level of details and the bird in the first example looks so out of place. these two creatures (that were taken from Elex 1). The loot mostly consists from like the same 5 things (health potion, elex potion, bag of elexit are guaranteed) and maybe useless children drawing if you are lucky.Īlso the animals seem more randomly placed in some areas and there's huge inconsistency between model quality of some of the animals: compare these two creatures (that were made specifically for Elex 2) vs. In Elex 2 it's more realistic, yes, but it looks like it was procedurally generated.Īlso the loot is kinda worse, less interesting lore stuff - like notes or audiologs. You can see all the different plants with different colours, shades of green, etc. The world is more detailed in terms of graphic details, yes, but overall it's heavy downgrade in terms of overall detail aka variety. You will have all the weapons you need, all the useful skills, etc. And the worst part about that is that your character progress basically stops when you get to chapter 3. In chapter 4 it's such a slog fest it's unbelievable. Yes, there are some quests that are much better than in Elex 1, for example the intro Alb quest with Skibbor is really nice, but as someone else already said, it all turns 180° when you get to the end of chapter 2.
